THE ORIGINS
Ada Masotti, a woman full of talent and courage, in 1954 gave birth to her dream: an atelier of corsetry in the name of the best Italian tradition.
Her skillful hands knew how to create small works of art to enhance the feminine beauty.
This experience is one of the values of La Perla today.
BOLOGNA, AN ANCIENT TOWN
Bologna is the Italian town where La Perla is born: a fascinating place, rich in artistic masterpieces, famous for its arcades and the ancient towers.
Bologna hosted for four centuries a solid tradition of silk factories and textile manufacturers which had given rise to refined laboratories of feminine corsetry.
Ada Masotti was trained in the best city atelier becoming a skilled corset maker. Thanks to this training, she laid down the foundations of that unique know-how that is still today an integral part of the La Perla philosophy.
LA PERLA, A NAME FULL OF PROMISES
To choose the name of her brand new laboratory Ada Masotti was inspired by a box lined in red velvet in which she presented her creations as if they were jewels.
She chose the name of the most feminine and harmonious gem: the pearl.
TODAY
As of June 2013, the company is part of the Pacific Global Management Group, a global talent management company headquartered in London, active in the model and celebrities’ management, music and events business through Elite World and Gold Typhoon. Under the new ownership, the company is embarking on an exciting phase of development with a new strategy aimed at leveraging its existing positioning as a top brand to evolve into a true luxury brand.

La Perla for nearly 60 years has followed the evolution of the female body through different fashions and trends becoming the lingerie and beachwear brand synonymous with “Made in Italy” luxury.
It offers a wide array of collections that range from lingerie to nightwear, from beachwear to fragrances and hosiery, dedicated to a refined and sensual woman who aims at expressing and underlining her femininity in a self-confident, sophisticated and elegant way.
LA PERLA BOUTIQUES
As well as being present in the best department stores and specialized shops, La Perla sells its collections through a selected network of flagship boutiques and shops in shop which are located at the heart of the most important fashion streets of the world.
The company's new direction is also based on a change of image for its retail arm. The new design for the La Perla boutiques is the result of the work of architect Roberto Baciocchi, founder of the internationally renowned architectural studio with its headquarters in Arezzo, Italy.
